2020 July Bullet Journal Set Up

Well we are officially in the second half of the year and here is to hoping this half goes better than the first half. I also started a new journal for the second half. I am still using a Scribbles that Matter Journal but just in a different color. This will be my second full year using these journals and they have been great. It’s also nice to have new crisp pages to draw on.

I decided to do a very summery theme for July. I almost did this Ice Cream theme for the month of June, but saved it for this month and did the sunflowers last month. It get so hot here in Texas, where I live, that I knew I wanted to add a slightly melted Ice Cream cone at least once. I might add it later on in the weeks but it is only on the cover now. I was thinking about doing a red, white, and blue theme for the fourth, but I did slightly paler colors to match the ice cream theme better.

For most of the first half of the year I had all the months fully together. So for the first month of this journal I combined the days, but I did split the weeks and added the drop shadows. I figured there wasn’t going to be a ton of color on this page besides the drawings, so the shadows help. I did add drawings of ice cream bowl, a Popsicle, and some cherries to top it.

I decided to not draw any ice cream on the Habits page, but I did fill in the letters with ice cream themes. Like the chocolate dripping on the H. I picked one of the light blues to fill in the habits for the month. I figured the pink would be too much since I put the pink popsicles on the Playlist page. I also added a little bit portion of a popsicle on that page also.

I like to leave plenty of room on both the goals and brain dump pages to write on all over. So I wanted to keep the drawings simple and still with the theme. I added the ice cream scoop to the top of the brain dump page and a little cake cone to the bottom. On the Goals page I did a nice big stacked ice cream cone and colored them in with the colors. I thought I would leave them blank to color in when I finished a goal but I thought that would leave the page too empty. I might just write down my goals and not mark them as complete or not.

For the first week I messed up, as usual, and wanted it to start on Monday, but it really starts on Wednesday. I had plenty of room for each day, so I could do a bigger drawing to mark the dates and days in. I have some ideas for the next few weeks and I am excited to work them out. Also to see what the rest of this year brings and exciting things that could happen.
