2020 June Bullet Journal Set Up

So it is coming up to half way through the year after June. It is crazy to think all that has happened this year so far and we are only half way. I do hope the second half will bring happier times and healthier times too. For June, I wanted to focus on happy things and the joy of summer. So I went with sunflowers! I was about to do a different theme but I am going to save that for July. I am on the last month for the navy bullet journal I am using, and I have a grey one just like out for the rest of the year. I am planing a post about that set up also.

For the cover, it ended up being my guienepig for how I wanted the sunflowers to look. The large sunflower on the left is the only one with orange in the center. I thought it would blend more, but it did not. So I decided not to add the orange to the rest, since I didn’t like how it looked. Besides that I like how the flowers turned out. On the right I made them frame the word June and I really liked how they look. I used two different yellows and greens to create depth for the flowers. I used both Steadtler and Tombow pens.

I continued the sunflowers on to the monthly layout, but I added a little stem to connect them. I also wanted to fill some of the blank spaces and so added the loose petals throughout. I did the days of the week titles in brown so that there wouldn’t be too much green or yellow on the page. I also messed up on the spacing for the boxes at one point, but I doesn’t look too bad and is still usable.

At this point I didn’t want to do just more sunflowers on stems, so I tried to change it up a bit. I added a flower in a small vase and tried flowers at different angles. I liked how they turned out and for this page I decided not to add the lines within the flower petals and I liked them even more. Since there was not a lot of green within the design for the pages, I am going to use it to fill in my habit trackers. Brown was the original color I was going to use, but I think the green looks better.

Sunflowers are not a super hard flower to make, but by this point I was tired of making them. The goals page ended up with no flowers and just a long stem and leaves. I did do smaller flowers for the goal bullet points, but those were very simple to do. These pages need a lot of room to write on so I didn’t need to put much on them. It is a relief after decorating the other pages. I think also the colors are well balanced on these pages besides maybe brown, but that is not one of my main colors.

When the month starts on a Monday, I think it is the only time I don’t mess up on the first weekly layout. I love it. I did go back to drawing more sunflowers and added the floating petals for fillers. I think this basic layout is my favorite to do. I has plenty of space for each day to write and then space on the sides for the month glance and extra decor. I have probably used it the most of my go to layouts for weeks. I always add the drop shadows to the boxes here to finish the look of the page.
