2020 February Bullet Journal Set Up
Welcome to the month of Love. And it is a leap year, so it’s one day longer! We are in the thick of winter and I am already wanting warmer days, but we have this time to remember the ones we love and tell them. I chose my theme based on love and love letters. I saw a cute drawing of an open letter and was inspired to make it part of this month. I kept with the tradition pink, two different shades, as a color and then add in a tan for the letter aspect.
For the cover i wanted to do February in a script writing to mock how someone might write in a love letter and to make the feel very romantic. I also made it pink and out lined is a little off to make it not rigid. I wanted all the drawings to feel informal and relaxed. So nothing is really confined to their lines and shapes. I put a big closed letter opposite of February and added a little heart as the seal.
Again to keep the relaxed feel to the month, I disconnected the boxes for the days. I also made the edges rounded and not a nice square. I had to remember to add the extra day at the end of the month, and was happy to see we gained an extra Saturday. I used short script for the days and then add a cursive quote to fill the top of the page. I decided to add love quotes to the pages since my theme was love letters. I also just used Shakespeare quotes. The pages mention where the quotes are from.

The header for the habits is one of my favorites. It was copies from the drawing I saw that gave me the inspiration for this theme. Writing the smaller habits over the colored habits turned out really well, so I incorporated it on other pages. For the daily trackers, I also used an open letter formate. The goals page I kept simple and just used hearts for my goal trackers. Closed letters frame the goals title and then quotes were added to both pages. I tried to relate the quotes to the pages they were placed on.
Keeping the brain dump page fairly blank is a usual habit for me. I also didn’t incorporate any letters on this page, but changed it up a bit. I put the title of the page within love arrows. Giving the feel of cupid for the page. For the playlist page, I again used the open letter drawing, but I made it very large. The hearts indicated where I will write my songs I listen to this month. I have a feeling there might be some love songs going on there at one point.
For the first week I wanted to keep it simple. I made the rounded boxes and wrote in the dates with pink and the smaller print in black. I also added a shadow to the boxes in the tan. I did mess up on the days at the beginning, but what is a bullet journal without some messes. I tried to fix it the best I could.
I love how this set up turned out, pun intended. This month seem very fun and I can’t wait to draw more of the weeks and extra things I have planned for the pages. Also any ideas on what to do for leap day?!
